All NewTrend isomalt shares one specification: assay 98% minimum, GI 9, melting point 145 to 150 °C. The grade is the particle size, and particle size decides how it dissolves, flows, compresses and cooks. Pick by process, not by product.

Crystal grade. Kettles, depositors, enrobing lines, casting and showpiece work. Typical products: hard candy, lollipops, sugar art, cake decorating, toffees.

NT-ST-80 · 80 mesh
Fine grade. Direct compression, dry blends, dusting and powder mixes. Typical products: chewable tablets, drink powders, bakery mixes, dairy desserts.

NT-ST-150 · 150 mesh
Powder grade. Pharmaceutical tablets, lozenges and fine dry blends. Typical products: lozenges, orally disintegrating tablets, nutraceutical powders.

What does 30 mesh, 80 mesh and 150 mesh mean?
Mesh is the sieve size the particles pass through. 30 mesh is coarse crystal, 80 mesh is a fine granule and 150 mesh is a powder. Finer grades dissolve faster, flow and compress differently and are used for tablets and dry blends.
Which isomalt grade is used for hard candy?
NT-ST-30, the crystal grade. It melts cleanly in kettles and depositors and is also the grade used for sugar art and cake decorating.
Which isomalt grade is used for pharmaceutical tablets?
